  • Eco-Adventure International will supply a comfortable 1300cc vehicle with radio/tape for your 10-day 9-night tour. The package gives you 3000 free kilometres (it is unlikely that you will even exceed 1200 km) and with comprehensive supercover insurance for two drivers. Supercover insurance also covers a large part of the standard insurance excess, reducing your accident or theft liability excess to as little as R900. Upgrades to larger vehicles are also available on request as an optional extra.



ITINERARY


Day 01, 02, 03:
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, collect your 1300cc car from our depot and depart immediately for your first apartment on the foothills of Table Mountain. This spacious one bedroom apartment is the ideal base from which to explore the delights this international destination has to offer.

You may want to use the complimentary tickets that we offer for the Two Oceans Aquarium in the V&A Waterfront and the boat-based Seal Island safari departing from Hout Bay.

Day 04:
We suggest an early departure from Cape Town. Travel down the main freeway to Mossel Bay approximately 350km away. En route there are many places of interest we recommend you stop and visit, Albertinia being one of them where you are able to view the world-famous aloe factory with the opportunity to purchase these renowned herbal products. In Mossel Bay your 4* beachfront guest house enjoys a magnificent setting overlooking the Indian Ocean. Spend the rest of the day on the beach or enjoying some of the many activities from museums to horse riding on the beach.

Day 05, 06, 07:
After a sumptuous breakfast in Mossel Bay, you travel further eastwards to Knysna, the epicentre of the Garden Route. Here you stay in a luxurious centrally situated guest house, with all the great attractions of this quaint little town only a stone’s throw away.

You will have plenty of time to explore the beautiful areas in and around Knysna - why not take a cruise on the famous lagoon out to The Heads. A ride on the steam train to George is a must; this adventure will take you through pristine forests and golden beaches, traversing lagoons and rivers. Try one of the delightful restaurants in town for dinner and enjoy some pampering the real South African way.

Day 08: A two-hour journey will bring you to Oudtshoorn, known as the ‘feather capital’ of the world, famous for the Cango caves and its many ostrich farms. The rich culture of the town is reflected in its many museums and national monuments offering fascinating and authentic glimpses into life in a bygone era. Here you will stay in a historic guest house renovated to its former glory and within walking distance to some of the best restaurants and feather palaces in town.

Day 09 & 10: Stellenbosch is known as the wine capital of South Africa and today you will have the opportunity to visit some of these farms. On these farms you may choose to go on a tour of the vineyards and watch the fascinating winemaking process or you can join in on one of the world-class wine tasting. Stellenbosch is also the second oldest town in South Africa so there are many historical sites that are very interesting to visit.

After breakfast you will have a chance to stop and buy any of those last essentials before flying back home. From Stellenbosch you have a short 30km journey to Cape Town International Airport.
