Moremi Game Reserve and the Okavango Delta.
This is the real Africa! Our trip into the Moremi game reserve and the Okavango
Delta is not for those who want to be pampered in safari lodges. We will go
deep into these ecosystems bringing everything we need with us. Africa will be
all around us and we will explore it in vehicles, on foot and by boat. This area
is teeming with game and awaits our discovery. Every expedition is different and
one truly does not know what is around the next turn. This is a trip in the grand
style of Stanly and Livingston! The itinerary can be extended for a more in-depth
trip or combined with South Africa or Namibia. An extension to Victoria Falls is
recommended.

Day 01:
|
Lodge Accommodation at Tree Lodge in Maun (L,D,B&B)
Your safari commences in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Your guide will meet you on arrival at Maun airport and transfer you to Tree Lodge, which is situated, on a private game farm on the outskirts of Maun. After spending the afternoon at your leisure, you will embark on a scenic flight, enjoying a bird’s eye view of the Okavango Delta.

Day 02-06:

Safari in Moremi Game Reserve (Full Board)
The Okavango is a unique ecosystem, an inland delta situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world – the Kalahari basin. This wetland lies like an oasis in an otherwise inhospitable landscape. Were land and delta meet, a mosaic of pans, grasslands, forests and lagoons provide an extremely rich and diverse habitat where a multitude of animals and birds flourish. Moremi Game Reserve is situated in the eastern corner of the Okavango Delta.
You will spend the next two nights camping in an exclusive wilderness campsite in the Xakanaxa region of the reserve, exploring this oasis on game drives. This area boasts magnificent scenery as well as a multitude of bird and animal life. You will also have the opportunity to explore the endless network of crystal clear waterways and secret lagoons of the Okavango Delta by motorboat, stopping on one of the palm fringed islands for a picnic lunch. The papyrus-lined channels are home to the elusive sitatunga antelope as well as a variety of spectacular bird life including the seldom seen Pels Fishing Owl and a host of migrant birds.
On day 4, you will make your way towards the Khwai region of the reserve, enjoying a game drive and picnic lunch en route. The Khwai River forms the eastern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. Vast herds of buffalo and elephant are common in the dry season with regular sightings of leopard, lion and cheetah. The following two nights will be spent camping in an exclusive wilderness campsite, exploring the surrounding floodplains on game drives.

Day 07:

Safari Ends
On return to Maun, you can enjoy a game drive and picnic lunch en-route. On arrival in Maun you will be transferred to Maun Airport for your onward journey.
